Your go-to location Starbucks may be on the chopping block as the coffee giant closes stores nationwide - including a famous spot in Boston.

The CEO says many locations either aren’t reaching financial targets or are falling short on creating the environment customers deserve and expect.

This has come as a surprise to a lot of people, both customers and employees.

There’s a sign on the door at Starbucks in Government Center telling customers the store will be closing with a QR code to download the app and find nearby locations.

Many customers -- sad to see it go.

“It’s been here forever, as long as we’ve, yeah it’s our coffee spot," said Kelly Akins, a longtime customer.
