CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) -- A popular chat app called Discord is drawing in millions of kids and teens. But experts say it also comes with serious risks, including online predators who use it to target children.

Discord may look like a safe space for gamers, but tech experts warn it's become much more than that.

"The Discord community is geared more towards gamers and teenagers, and it's a place where they can hang out, have their own channels, and watch the live stream of gamers. It's a fun social media platform that kids gravitate to, and the graphics are nice and warm and fuzzy, and so why wouldn't kids want to hang out on Discord and chit-chat with other kids across the country?" said Burton Kelso, tech expert and owner of Integral.
