OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) - A two-day human trafficking operation in Oxford, Mississippi, this week has resulted in seven arrests, the state attorney general announced Friday.
AG Lynn Fitch says her office’s Human Trafficking Task Force conducted “Operation Fins Up” between Wednesday and Thursday. The initiative was made possible through a partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
In addition to the arrests, Fitch adds that five victims were rescued during this period. Fitch says they’ve been provided services and treatment.
An ICE hold has been placed on one of the seven suspects. None of their identities were released in Friday’s announcement.
