REVERE, Mass. —

A Massachusetts State Police lieutenant who was struck by a stolen motorcycle in Revere in June is finally on his way home after undergoing treatment for serious injuries for more than three months.

Massachusetts State Police Lt. Donald Bossi was outside of his vehicle on June 23 when he was struck by a motorcycle on Revere Beach Boulevard just outside of the Revere Barracks. The trooper was thrown approximately 45 feet as a result of the impact with the motorcycle.

Bossi was hospitalized until Aug. 19, when he was moved to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge.

After being discharged from Spaulding on Friday, he stopped at the Revere State Police Barracks, where he received a standing ovation.
