BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - It was a big day in Bangor for a popular business and the elementary school they gave back to with a giant check!

It’s quite literally a giant check in size and in the amount given: $5,000 went to Vine Street School.

It was all part of Burlington’s grand opening and ribbon cutting at their new location.

The check to Vine Street was part of their Adopt-A-Classroom program.

The retail store went from its former building on Springer Dive to Bangor Mall Boulevard in the old Bed Bath and Beyond location.

After the celebration outside everyone got a chance to check out the inside of the new store.

The school says they’ll thankful to have been picked to be the recipients of the donation.
