Jesse Williams is stepping out of the “Grey’s” and into the light with his new Prime Video series, “Hotel Costiera.”

Filmed at a real-life luxury hotel on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Williams throws away his bedside manner to embody Daniel De Luca, a U.S. Marine intelligence officer who now works to solve crimes as fixer for the hotel’s owner, Augusto (Tommaso Ragno), and his daughter Adele (Maria Chiara Giannetta).

In an interview with TODAY.com , Williams, 44, admits it was refreshing to take a step back from “serious subjects” and jump into something more “comedic” and “light.”

“That’s a big part of the appeal. It was a place to play, be light, fun, funny, creative … amidst all the chaos in the world,” he says.
