GURLEY, Ala. (WHNT) — Friday was a very exciting day for students at Madison County Elementary School in Gurley. The whole school dressed in gold for a special pep rally to honor 8th grader Josslyne Hulsey.

Hulsey arrived to cheers of "Let's go Josslyne!" and a gold carpet laid out for her.

Once she reached the center of the gym, Hulsey was able to do a ceremonial ringing of a bell, marking the end of her cancer treatment.

Hulsey was diagnosed with cancer when she was in 5th grade at MCES. She tells News 19 that it's hard to put into words how that felt.

"I don't really know," she said while holding back tears.

Her mom, Ashley Dickerson, stepped in and said "It's the end of your adventure, you get to start over new."
