A Sidney car dealership owner says he forgives the three, young and inexperienced vandals caught on camera smashing 12 cars, despite the cost of the damage.

For a thief or a vandal, Ebanks Auto Sales might have looked like easy pickings: cars parked out in the open, no motion lights, and plenty of getaway routes under the cover of night.

But on Thursday morning, Paul Ebanks got a phone call from a stranger who works nearby saying all was not well at the lot.

“She called and said, ‘Hey, I just wanted to let you know I’m parking my car here and I noticed that all your windows on all your cars had been smashed,’” Ebanks recalled.

When he arrived, he found 12 cars damaged. Broken windows, major dents and scratches, and even footprints left behind on a Nissan hood.
