Cherokee County, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A juvenile was arrested and charged after shooting in Cherokee County Friday morning.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, an altercation between two juveniles took resulted in a shooting on County Road 30 in the Howell’s Crossroads community just before 1 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

Authorities say deputies and paramedics quickly responded to the scene and took the shooter into custody. The victim in the shooting was taken to a local hospital where they are in stable condition in the ICU.

Authorities say the shooter has been charged with attempted murder and is currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
