ANNISTON, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Anniston Police Department says they have shut down a high school homecoming party after receiving information that a group was planning to “shoot it up.”
“With the diligence of staff and the cooperation of the property owner, we are in the process of shutting it down before it even starts,” said Anniston Police Chief Nick Bowles.
Chief Bowles says the department is calling in extra personnel for the rest of the evening. He wants to remind parents to be aware of where their kids are and who they’re with.
“I want your kids to celebrate in peace and make it home safely, said Chief Bowles.
Chief Bowles says the Anniston Police Department will have a zero-tolerance policy for any parties or crowd violations Friday night.
