Schettini powers Northgate past McIntosh to stay unbeaten
PEACHTREE CITY — Northgate jumped out to an early lead and never looked back Friday night, defeating McIntosh 35-14 to spoil the Chiefs’ homecoming.
The Vikings struck first on a trick play when wide receiver Tre Gill connected with Xavier King on an 8-yard reverse-option pass for a touchdown.
After stopping McIntosh on its opening possession, Northgate needed just three plays to find the end zone again as running back Woody Schettini broke free up the middle for a 56-yard score and a 14-0 advantage.
Schettini continued his dominant night with a 45-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter to extend the lead to 21-7. McIntosh answered before halftime to cut the deficit to 21-14, but the Chiefs would not score again.
