In Valley's 24-0 shutout road win over Indianola on Sept. 26, fans could see why the Tigers love having senior Drake DeGroote as their quarterback in 2025.

Against soft coverage, DeGroote found Jayden McGregory on a slant route in the third quarter. His wide-out sped past his defender in coverage, then split the two safeties for a long touchdown, with McGregory leaving nothing behind but a cloud of dust.

For DeGroote's second touchdown pass of the night, his other wide receiver named Jayden, Jayden Brown, got into open space as a defender cheated up to defend a screen. That left him wide-open down the seam for another long touchdown pass, putting the Tigers up 21-0 late in the second half.
