Mangaluru, Sep 27: Members of the Shivaji Lifesaving Swimmers’ Association, Mogaveerapatna, Ullal, displayed exemplary humanity by carrying a decomposed body on their shoulders for nearly 4 km and handing it over to an ambulance.

Late in the evening on Friday, fishermen who had cast nets near the Alivebagilu breakwater rocks noticed a decomposed body wedged between the rocks. They immediately informed the police control room (112). On receiving the message, Ullal police alerted members of the Shivaji Lifesaving Swimmers’ Association.

Responding to the call, members Yogeesh Amin, Prasad Suvarna, and Chandrahas Suvarna reached the spot, lifted the decomposed body onto their shoulders, and carried it across 3–4 km of terrain before placin
