TV star Ruth Langsford has opened up about the roller coaster of emotions she went through while competing in Strictly with Anton Du Beke , revealing that "nobody believes me" when she discusses the true extent of her struggles behind the glitz and glamour of the BBC show.

Despite her ups and downs on the dance floor, in an exclusive interview, the Loose Women star defended the series, admitting "it's always very difficult when a programme is under the microscope".

When quizzed on the scandals that have hit Strictly in recent years, including a partly upheld complaint from Amanda Abbington about her 2023 professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice , the ITV presenter said: "I think you can only speak from your own experience, and I had the best experience.
