COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - In a battle of District 12-5A Division I undefeated teams, A&M Consolidated couldn’t complete a comeback effort, losing 42-40 to Austin Anderson at Tigerland Stadium.

Why did Anderson win? A late third-quarter touchdown by Anderson running back Caleb Crenshaw pulled momentum back to the Trojans, giving his team a 21-14 lead.

On fourth down, with less than a minute to play, Consol (3-2, 2-1) tied the game back up on a 15-yard pass from quarterback Holt Goodwin to Braylen Dickson in the back corner of the endzone.

The extra-time slugfest went back-and-forth through five overtime periods, leading to Crenshaw’s fourth touchdown of the game in the sixth frame. The Anderson (4-0, 2-0) defense was able to stop Holt a yard short of the score to secure the win.
