BATTLE GROUND — When in doubt, the Prairie Falcons put all their trust in senior quarterback Deven Vigue and a dynamic group of receivers.
Against long odds late in Friday’s game against Union, their experience and poise prevailed to capture a 20-19 win at District Stadium.
Prairie faced a 4th and 24 and a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter and dialed up four verts, but the play wasn’t there. Vigue scrambled around a host of Union defenders and heaved a prayer to the end zone, where senior receiver Tommie Vick flashed open and hauled in the go-ahead 28-yard touchdown.
“We’ve played the same receiving corps, same line four years straight since C team. It’s really the same chemistry, it’s a scramble drill, we’ve done it since freshman year,” Vigue said.
