The Evergreen Plainsmen found out that, indeed, everything is bigger in Texas.

Yet, the Plainsmen stood tall against All Saints’ Episcopal School from Fort Worth, Texas, in the football game Friday at McKenzie Stadium.

It was a 14-14 game in the second quarter before the Saints pulled away for a 49-21 win.

The Saints (5-0) are the defending private school Class 5A Texas state champions and did show why by rolling up 429 yards of offense.

But it was Evergreen (2-2) that scored fast and first when on the first play from scrimmage, Damian Perez ran 49 yards to the Saints’ 17-yard line. The next play was a 17-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Baum to Terrance Saryon.
