It proved true for Nitro's football team on Friday night.

The Wildcats hadn't played a home game all season until Friday, when they welcomed the Ripley Vikings.

The Wildcats, rated seventh in Class AAA, poured their heart into their first six offensive possessions, as they scored on their first six drives en route to a 48-6 thumping of the No. 16 Vikings.

Nitro poured in 526 yards of offense, including 240 yards on the ground.

The Wildcats move to 4-1, while the Vikings fall to 3-2.

"It was great to be home," Nitro coach Boom McKinney said. "It felt a little weird, actually.
