HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Showers are forecast to decrease through the weekend as an upper level disturbance moves southwest and away from the islands.

The flood watch for Kauai and Niihau has been canceled, along with the First Alert Weather Day for Kauai, as the threat of flooding has eased. However, there’s a First Alert for a new area of moisture that could bring a slight increase in windward and mauka showers around Tuesday and Wednesday.

In surf, a small medium to long-period northwest swell will bring some head-high sets to north shores Saturday before declining Sunday. Surf on south shores will build and hold through the weekend in the 4 to 6 foot range. East shores will be small until trades increase late this weekend.
