The Mumbai police has arrested the man who threatened comedian Kapil Sharma and sought Rs 1 crore through calls and videos between September 22–23. The accused was nabbed from Kolkata, West Bengal, and invoked gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar’s names.

Identified as Dilip Chaudhary, the accused was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch in West Bengal and has been taken into custody till September 30. Further investigation into the motive is underway to ascertain if the accused is actually linked to the Bishnoi gang or any of the named gangsters.
