CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - A car struck and severely injured a teenager Friday night in Black Hawk County.
Cedar Falls police say a 911 call came in around 11:07 pm about a motor vehicle hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of Hudson Road and W 27th Street. Investigators say a northbound Nissan Altima struck an 18-year-old individual in the crosswalk.
Police say the pedestrian was initially taken to a local hospital, but then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.
An investigation into this matter is continuing.
Mercy One Paramedics, the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department, University of Northern Iowa Department of Public Safety, and Black Hawk County Dispatch assisted with this incident.
