Police are trying to trace a van driver after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run in Edinburgh last night. ‌

The 29-year-old man was struck on Prestonfield Avenue in the city around 9.40pm on Friday, September 26. The driver failed to stop at the scene. ‌

The victim was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. His condition has not yet been confirmed. ‌

The road was closed off for some time as emergency crews dealt with the incident.

One local resident told EdinburghLive: “Police are saying it was a road accident. Someone rushed away in an ambulance, road is all closed off. It happened at about 9.30pm.” ‌
