An investigation is underway after a 29-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a van being driven on Prestonfield Avenue.
The van driver failed to stop, and police have issued an appeal to trace the driver and vehicle.
The man was taken to hospital where his current condition is unknown.
The road was closed to facilitate the investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.40pm on Friday, 26 September, 2025, we were called to a report of a 29-year-old man struck by a van on Prestonfield Avenue, Edinburgh which failed to stop.
“Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and the vehicle involved.”
