TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Although the climatological peak of hurricane season has passed, the Atlantic remains awake.

Humberto strengthening:

Two tropical cyclones are getting stronger in the Atlantic, Humberto and Tropical Depression Nine.

Hurricane Humberto remains a Category 4 storm. According to the 11 a.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center, winds are 145 mph. Category 5 strength is winds of 157 mph or greater according to the Saffir-Simpson Scale.

The major hurricane is expected to stay over the open Atlantic for the majority of its lifespan. By early next week, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) predicts a close call to Bermuda.
