MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- As the potential of tropical activity continues to linger over the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach residents on Saturday started preparing for what the storm might bring.
City officials brought three truckloads of sand to the parking lot of Myrtle's Market, inviting the public to stock up on what they need.
"What we have to do is make sure that depending on what the storm does, we're ahead," finance director Jeremy Roof said. "We've got the best interest of the city and residents in mind."
Roof said while most parts of the city don't experience flooding, preparation is essential.
"We're very lucky, sitting in Myrtle Beach. It doesn't flood that bad. Only in certain areas down by the swamps," he said. "So for the most part, we'll probably be OK, but you just neve
