The Yankees held serve last night, winning the first game of the year’s final series while the Blue Jays did the same. Over the final two days, New York needs to win one more game than Toronto, and while they’re trying to accomplish that task, their starter today is sub rosa auditioning for a potential Wild Card start.

Cam Schlittler would line up well for a potential Thursday Game 3 start, even if the club hasn’t announced anything yet. We all know how much talent he’s shown, a three-win pitcher with a very live fastball. He handled the Orioles well last week, going 5.1 innings and allowing a single run with a 6:1 K:BB ratio.
