A 29-year-old man is facing multiple criminal charges related to vehicle theft and dangerous driving after an incident in western Saskatchewan this week — and police are also warning the public not to take matters into their own hands if they see a crime in progress.

RCMP in Unity were called around 9 a.m. on Wednesday with a report of suspicious activity in Salvador, a hamlet about 200 kilometres west of Saskatoon.

A man was seen getting into a black truck and leaving Salvador, heading southbound on Highway 31, RCMP said in a Friday news release.

Shortly after, they got a report of a stolen truck matching the same description.
