HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - Authorities investigated an incident involving a discharged gun at a youth sporting event on Saturday.

During a soccer game at Holman Middle School, a parent’s gun accidentally fired.

Fortunately, no injuries occurred. YMCA staff immediately called authorities after the incident.

Police arrived, conducted an investigation, and confirmed that the person involved is a federal law enforcement officer who was legally authorized to carry a firearm. The situation was quickly de-escalated.
