The Yuma Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that occurred Saturday afternoon.

According to Yuma police, the incident happened on Sept. 20 at about 1:06 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 24th Street. A vehicle, shown in a released surveillance photo, reversed out of a parking space at a business and struck an older man who was pushing a shopping cart toward the entrance.

The driver then fled the scene, heading northbound through the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The condition of the victim has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to call the Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact 78-CRIME
