WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTW) -- Gov. Henry McMaster and other state officials are providing an update on tropical storm systems that may impact South Carolina over the next few days.
Humberto increased to a category four hurricane with sustained 145 mph winds as of 1 p.m. Saturday, with slow movement over the past couple of hours. It does not pose a threat to the United States, but it will be yet another hurricane that rapidly intensifies. It is expected to peak as a Category 5 hurricane this weekend before making a sharp northeast turn out to sea. Humberto will track around the edge of strong high pressure in the Atlantic.
