MADISON, Wis. -- Test scores released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction on Thursday showed slight improvements in English and reading.
According to results from the statewide Forward Exam. The exam assesses students in grades three through eight in ELA and math.
There was a slight dip in math from the 2023-24 to 2024-25 school years. In 2023-24, 53.1% of students were meeting expectations, but in 2024-25, that number dropped to 52.8%.
In English Language and Arts, test scores showed marginal improvement. In 2023-24, 51.1% of students were meeting or exceeding standards, and compare that to the 2024-25 school year and that number went up a marginal amount to 51.6%.
