A man has been charged in a fatal shooting in downtown Minneapolis late last month, with charges alleging he shot the victim 13 times.

Tyrone De Shun Childs Jr., 21, is charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree robbery and one count of second-degree assault in connection with the Aug. 27 shooting.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a report of a shooting near the area of 8th Street North and Hennepin Avenue South just after 2 a.m.

At the scene, officers found a victim dead at the scene. The man, later identified as 35-year-old Jermaine Jabaar Typray Barker, had reportedly suffered 13 gunshot wounds.

Another victim suffered non-life threatening injuries in connection with the shooting, according to the criminal complaint.
