HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) -A Henrico community remembers a beloved basketball coach on Saturday.

Legendary Highland Springs coach George Lancaster died from cancer in August at the age of 80.

Lancaster was the Springers’ basketball coach for 37 years before retiring in 2016.

He won 704 games during his tenure and led the Springers to two state titles.

A celebration of life is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 27 in Highland Springs High School’s gymnasium.
