MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Utah football quarterback Devon Dampier called his own number in the first quarter against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

On a QB keeper from the seven-yard line, Dampier met a group of Mountaineers defenders on the goal-line to extend the Utes’ lead to 14-0.

The play gave Dampier his second rushing score in a Utah jersey.

In week five, the Utah offense looked to be fully back after a sluggish performance against Texas Tech the week prior. In the first quarter, Dampier completed seven of his 10 pass attempts for 67 yards and a passing touchdown. He added five carries for 12 yards and a rushing score.

The opening drive ended in a JJ Buchanan receiving score despite West Virginia’s pass interference on the play.
