MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Utah football team bounced back from its week four loss in the best way, crushing the West Virginia Mountaineers 48-14 on the road on Saturday.
Quarterback Devon Dampier did it all for the Utes in week five, completing 21 of his 26 pass attempts for 237 yards and four touchdowns. He also scrambled 11 times for 33 yards and a score on the ground.
Six different Utah players got into the end zone in West Virginia. The Mountaineers didn’t have an answer on defense, even when true freshman Byrd Ficklin checked in for the fourth quarter.
The Utes will get a week off before returning to action against the Arizona State Sun Devils at home on Saturday, October 11.
