CONCRETE, Wash. — A 63-year-old man died Saturday after falling from the Sauk Mountain Trail near Concrete, east of Mt. Vernon, according to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 2:00 p.m. after reports that the man, who was hiking with a group of eight people, slipped and fell an estimated 150 to 200 feet.
Other hikers and bystanders attempted CPR until medical personnel arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office said the incident remains under investigation.
