ATHENS, Ga. — Alabama football defensive lineman James Smith has been ejected after he was charged with targeting.

Georgia running back Chauncey Bowens was brought down after a 1-yard gain deep in Georgia territory. Smith was later called for targeting, giving the Bulldogs a first-and-5 at the Alabama 5-yard line.

Smith is disqualified for the rest of Alabama vs. Georgia and will miss the first half of the Crimson Tide's game against Vanderbilt.
