A t 17, Rigo Jackson isn’t quite an average teen.

The Gilbert boy laughs a lot, loves all kinds of action – but he also lives with Pallister-Killian Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by physical and intellectual features similar to cerebral palsy.

And he will be missing the action of his senior year at Gilbert High School – not because he’s incapable, but because the district won’t honor his Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order.

Susie Jackson, Rigo’s mother, explained what led to the tough request the family had to make last year.

In February 2024, Rigo began to scream out randomly, something Susie said they had never experienced with him before.
