Saturday was a great day to be an Oregon Ducks’ fan.

It was a rough day to be a Penn State supporter.

During James Franklin’s time as the Nittany Lions’ head coach, PSU has played 25 games against teams that were ranked in the Associated Press top 10.

That’s a lot of big games.

Penn State is 4-21 in those big games.

Since Franklin has upgraded the Lions’ roster with quality recruiting classes, the same scenario tends to play out in these contests. Penn State had its moments but its offense can’t score enough.

It was more of the same on Saturday night at Beaver Stadium, PSU, held to 17 points in regulation, lost 30-24 in double overtime to Oregon in the program’s White Out game.

Penn State scored three points in the first three quarters.
