During James Franklin’s time as the Nittany Lions’ head coach, PSU has played 25 games against teams that were ranked in the Associated Press top 10.
That’s a lot of big games.

Since Franklin has upgraded the Lions’ roster with quality recruiting classes, the same scenario tends to play out in these contests. Penn State had its moments but its offense can’t score enough.
