WASHINGTON - 58,000,000 pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products due to possible contamination with pieces of wood, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.
The agency stated that the wood may be embedded in the batter of the recalled products. The problem was discovered after the company received several complaints, including five that involved injuries. Hillshire Brands determined that the wooden sticks entered the production process before the product was battered.
The recall involves corn dogs and sausage on a stick packaged between March 17, 2025, and September 26, 2025. The recalled items bear the establishment number “EST-582” or “P-894” printed on the packaging.
