BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Happy Sunday!

It’s a dry and comfortable start to the morning with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. High pressure continues to build in from the north providing us northeasterly winds this afternoon.

With plenty of sinking air in place, rain chances appear unlikely this afternoon across central Alabama. We should enjoy a mostly sunny sky this afternoon.

Plan for summer-like heat with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. Parts of west Alabama could see high temperatures climbing into the lower 90s. Our average high for Sept. 28 is 83°F, so, we will likely end up 7 to 10 degrees above average this afternoon.

If you have any evening plans, we should remain dry with temperatures cooling into the upper 70s by 7 p.m.
