SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A man is in life-threatening condition after firefighters rescued him from a burning home.

On Sept. 28, at 7:21 a.m., the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) responded to a house fire on the 1700 block of Gain Street.

Once there, SFD encountered smoke and flames coming from the house and multiple bystanders outside said someone was still inside.

Crews went into the home and found an adult man in the back bedroom.

The man was rescued and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SFD had eight units and a dozen firefighters on the scene to bring the fire under control.
