KEITHVILLE, La. (KSLA) - A fire covered several acres at the Woolwork Road Landfill in Keithville.

On Sept. 28, just after 1 a.m., crews from Caddo Fire District 4 discovered smoke in the area of Colquitt Road.

Firefighters deployed a thermal imaging drone and confirmed that a fire was happening at the Woolworth Road Landfill.

Caddo Fire Districts (CFD) 4, 3, and 6 arrived and found several acres of the landfill material burning.

It took several hours for firefighters to contain the fire. Heavy machinery was called in to assist.

Caddo Fire District crew 4 remained on scene until the situation was safe.
