A dog groomer has been sacked from her position after being captured on CCTV in an incident her employers branded as "completely unacceptable".

Simply Debonair Dogs in Tranmere "immediately dismissed" a staff member after she was spotted shoving a dog during grooming by its owner, who was monitoring the live footage.

Rebecca Quigley, 28, from Prenton, had brought her Cockapoo Blossom to Simply Debonair Dogs in Tranmere on September 5.

She claims she was telephoned to collect Blossom at 2.15pm that same day, but upon arriving five minutes early she was "heartbroken" to witness how she alleged her pet was being handled by the groomer.
