DEFOREST, Wis. (WMTV) - The DeForest Police Department is said on Sunday morning a missing 14-year-old girl was found safe.

The teen is now back at home and police thanked the community for getting the message out.

In a Facebook post the department said in part, “Thank you to all who reached out with information regarding Abigail. Through community support, tips, and hard dedicated work by DeForest officers we [are] happy to announce Abigail was safely located this morning and returned home”.

DeForest Police had asked for help finding the teen, who had last been seen leaving her home Saturday night. A media release was sent around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police did not provide any information about where the girl was found or what time Sunday morning she was located.
