Police were called to Gillett Square around 8.15pm yesterday (September 27).

The victim's injuries have been deemed not to be life-threatening.

Officers arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 20:16hrs on Saturday, 27 September to Gillett Square, N16 following reports of a man located with injuries to his head.

"The victim was taken to hospital and his injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.

"Officers arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

"He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing. "
