WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred at a gas station in the Waipahu area early Sunday morning.

According to HPD, officers responded to a gas station on Ka Uka Blvd just after 3:30 a.m. after reports of a robbery.

A 57-year-old man reported that a man entered the store and brandished a handgun and held him at gunpoint. There was also two other men who entered the gas station and reportedly wrapped a chain around an ATM that was inside of the store.

The two men then pulled out the ATM into a white van. All three men then left the scene in the van, which was later found to have been stolen the previous day.
