Early Saturday morning, Sept. 27, Monroe detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the 500 block of East Front Street as part of a narcotics trafficking investigation.

The operation was carried out by the Special Response Team The search resulted in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, a small amount of narcotics residue, and additional evidence consistent with the trafficking of narcotics, police said. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

"We are committed to disrupting illegal narcotics activity that threatens the safety of our community," said Chad Tolstedt, director of the Monroe Public Safety Department. "The recovery of firearms and ammunition alongside evidence of drug trafficking highlights the dangerous nature of this type of crime."
