OZARK, Mo. - An Ozark man is accused of killing a woman using a gardening tool.

Derrick Alling is facing first-degree murder and armed criminal action charges.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim's husband said Alling had been making threats to the victim that he would harm her, and acting aggressively within weeks of her death on Sept. 25.

"Defendant is alleged to be the beneficiary of Confidential Victim's trust and had been demanding his inheritance from Confidential Victim," the arrest warrant says.

After the threats, Alling is accused of repeatedly hitting the woman in the head and face with a gardening or scraping tool, causing numerous fractures to her skull.

He's being held in the Christian County jail without bond.
