GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A two-day event at Heritage Hill brought people back to the 1700s, showing what it was like as a French fur trader in northeast Wisconsin.
Over 100 people attended the re-enactment of the opening of Fort La Baye
The fort was established in 1684, and a trading post was established in 1729 by Paul Marin.
The post opened trade among the peaceful Menominee Indians before losing their alliances with the Fox Indians.
Those who attended the event were able to learn about French fur traders and re-enact drills used by the French and British armies.
If you missed the reenactment at Heritage Hill this weekend, but find yourself interested in learning more about the history, you can find more information on the Heritage Hill website.
